With the opening of our new Brokaw grain site location this fall Heartland will now have four main mill locations: Athens, Dorchester, Sheldon and our new Brokaw location. We are handling millions bushels of grain each year at these locations.

We are currently handling corn, soybeans, wheat, oats and barley. We also provide all the grain marketing tools one would need in this commodity based arena. Our grain merchandiser is only a phone call away at 1-800-521-2021. We also provide cash bids on our web site. Click on the cash bids tab on the menu or click here to go to the cash bids page.

Once completed the mill will have storage and drying capacity of
2.2 million bushels
with bean roasting capabilities in the future.

The new state of the art 4000 bushel per hour grain drying dryer will run continuously on natural gas, a big advantage over drying facilities that run on LP. We are also keeping the current 3000 bushel per hour grain dryer for any extreme grain situations we encounter in the future.

Our goal is to get the customer in and out within 15 minutes. That is why The brokaw mill site will have a 10,000 bushell per hour unloading capcity.

Time is money and Heartland is investing in the equipment that will help us meet that goal."

It is all part of Heartlands philosophy of Y.E.P! Yield, Efficiency and Profits!

We are now taking applications for seasonal employment for our Brokaw grain site. Contact Mark at 715-218-4054

Meet our new Brokaw Mill Manager

Heartland welcomes Mark Lemerande, our new Brokaw Mill site manager.

Mark comes to us with a strong background in business and customer service. For the past seventeen years, Mark was the owner of L&L Oil and Pine Ridge Quick Lube. In addition to owning L&L Oil, Mark also ownedhis own logging business for many years.

Mark is no stranger to hard work and taking care of customers. He likens managing the grain site to his logging years. Both businesses thrive in a competitive, highly volatile and fast changing environment where over serving the customer is the key to success.

Mark and his wife Christy live in the Merrill area. They have 2 children and 4 grand children.

Mark is looking forward to bringing the new Brokaw Mill site to its full potential as quickly as possible. If Mark’s past hard work and success are any indication, the Brokaw Mill site will be a major asset to Heartland Cooperative for many years to come.
Welcome aboard Mark!
